Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley Endorses Andrea Campbell for Attorney General

BOSTON – Today, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley endorsed Andrea Campbell for Attorney General, marking Campbell’s third congressional delegation endorsement in one week and fourth since launching her campaign. Congresswoman Pressley, who represents Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District, previously served on the Boston City Council with Campbell where they worked in partnership to pass legislation that created greater opportunity for their constituents.

“Andrea is a proven leader and problem-solver,” said Congresswoman Pressley. “She has been a passionate advocate for our communities, has brought her full lived experience to the work of policymaking, and has made clear the values that will guide her work as Massachusetts next Attorney General: equity, opportunity, and an unswerving commitment to justice for our communities. I’m grateful to have had the chance to work alongside Andrea – as colleagues on the Boston City Council and during the time I’ve been in Congress – and I’m proud to endorse her campaign.”

Just last week, Congresswoman Pressley awarded Campbell the “Pressley Policy Pledge”, affirming Campbell’s commitment to bold policies that create and advance justice and opportunity – especially for communities and individuals who are often marginalized by politicians.

“I’m deeply moved to earn the support of my friend, former colleague and sister in service, Congresswoman Pressley. From our time together on the Boston City Council, we’re proof that when women of color lead, incredible things happen,” said Campbell. “As your next Attorney General, I will continue to partner with our federal delegation to push for progress, opportunity and justice for the people of Massachusetts.”

Today’s endorsement continues Campbell’s momentum of support from Massachusetts’ congressional delegation. She was previously endorsed by Senator Ed Markey, Assistant House Speaker Katherine Clark and Congressman Jake Auchincloss; Campbell has also earned the support of former Congressman Joe Kennedy.
